How to Use Data to Increase B2B Sales
24/05/2023Here we are discussing Sam Altman’s requests, the founder of OpenAI, to the United States Senate. According to Italian newspapers, it seems that Altman has regretted creating artificial intelligence and now wants to put it under control.
That’s not the case at all! In reality, Altman is a strategic genius who is trying to exploit politics to guarantee OpenAI’s dominance and protect his own business. In technical jargon, you could say he is raising the “barrier to entry” for competitors.
Zuckerberg from Facebook pulled off the same trick. He always offered to help regulate social media platforms, but in the end acts only in the interest of his company. Altman wants licenses and regulations to limit competition, so that only OpenAI and Microsoft can operate in the sector. And imagine a world where standards are set by the United States, ensuring that no Chinese artificial intelligence can enter the American market! Altman is very explicit in saying that he wants to maintain US leadership in artificial intelligence and ensure benefits only for Americans.
Wouldn’t we want the rules to be decided by those not subject to regulation? We should hope that Congress limits OpenAI’s power rather than making it even stronger. And we would do it for the good of Americans and all of us, of course!
