Google, Apple, Facebook and Amazon have all gone straight into the financial sector. The answer is NO: they don’t want to make money like a standard Bank. Certainly the business would still be interesting, but it’s the users’ FINANCIAL BEHAVIOR that is much more profitable. While it becomes more and more complicated to profile users based on “Social” information (see privacy & gdpr), access to information related to bank transactions and purchasing habits will allow a much more accurate profiling.
