It doesn’t take a genius, yet some people find it hard to understand that a trade war based on tariffs is just bullshit.
Any economic system that allows massive production outside national borders only to save on manpower cost exposes itself to a myriad of problems, not just economic, but social also. Period.
And now a small open letter…
“Dear my Donald Duck, do you want to make America great again? (pretending it’s a positive thing…). Try to make the AMERICANS work better: you have a bad set of manufacturing industries, perhaps one of the worst of the advanced western economies. Even the underpaid Chinese do better than you. If you Produce then you Win, not the other way around. There is not intellectual property only.
By introducing tariffs, you force the Chinese to respond with unconventional weapons: less production of raw materials, reduction of purchase of government bonds, less international imports (through duties, of course). You hurt yourself (read: the whole USA), maybe not in the short term, but in the medium-long you will pay that badly. Europe and the rest of the world will have to bear the weight of your bullshit. It would be better you stop drinking Coke and retire. Old Minds give birth to Old Ideas only, because Old are the processes used.
Last but not least: don’t tell us it’s all part of your long term dealing strategy, you have been losing control of that a long time ago. Your Tweets are not the solution, but part of the problem.”
